Today, we took a day trip to Nara from Kyoto, starting off the day with pastries in the JR train station.
Honestly, most of the food I was around today was deer food to feed to the enormous crowds of beautiful deer that roam Nara park, but we did stop for both more soft serve ice cream, this time with caramel, and a delicious strawberries and cream (condensed milk and ice cream) shaved ice.
For dinner, we got an amazing spread of Panko-crusted pork, miso soup, tofu, rice, and a cabbage salad, served with both hot and cold tea.
This was one of the best meals I’ve had all trip long, especially after walking all day in the 90+ degree heat.
I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
