We started off the day with some pastries we bought at a bakery the night before. I had a really great chocolate scone, which reminded me about this really good recipe I used to have for cinnamon scones. I’ll have to make a batch next week when I get back home.
We spent the morning and afternoon at a Monkey Park, feeding apples and peanuts to Macaque monkeys. After, we stopped for fresh juice.
We kind of skipped lunch, compensating with an early dinner. I had never seen this before Japan, but the restaurant we went to was one of a few I’ve seen where you choose your meal and purchase a ticket for it at a vending machine before sitting down. Today’s dinner was ramen at a place called Musoshin.
We finished the day on a sweet note after watching today’s portion of Kyoto’s Gion Matsuri festival with some Haagen-Dazs ice cream. I got a classic caramel sandwich.
That’s all for today!
