This pasta is super simple, but bursting with bright flavors of citrus and pepper. It’s a great weeknight side. 


  • 3/4 lb spaghetti
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • The juice of two lemons- about 1/4 to 1/3 cup
  • The zest of one lemon- about 1/2 to 1 tablespoon
  • 2/3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt 
  • 3/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley
  • 3/4 tbsp dried basil

Start by cooking your pasta to directions. Reserve 1/2 cup of your pasta water before draining and setting aside. 

While the pasta cooks, cook the garlic and red pepper in the olive oil until fragrant and golden- about 4 minutes. Add in the rest of the ingredients along with the pasta water. Add the pasta to this sauce and combine. Serve warm.
